A Market Development Action Plan (MDAP) outlines how the Market Development Initiative (MDI) goals will be incorporated into the Portfolio. All MDAP efforts are implemented with the specific goal of furthering at least one existing MDI goal. MDAP efforts are low-to-no cost and are focused on improvements that can be made to existing efforts.

The Market Development Initiative was introduced in 2018 to strengthen the local energy efficiency economy by providing resources, support and solutions to residential and business customers throughout our communities in central and southern Illinois. MDI is comprised of three main goals:

1. Increase energy efficiency engagement by customers who have not participated

2. Increase the number of local, diverse candidates filling untapped energy efficiency jobs.

3. Expand or launch new local, diverse energy efficiency businesses.

Program Partner Expectations in PY2022

Portfolio Implementation Partners will be responsible for the creation and implementation of an MDAP. These Partner MDAP are intended to ensure all Portfolio Program Staff are invested in creating a more equitable Program.
