The Mobile Home Initiative (MHI) helps mobile home residents in eligible counties become more energy-efficient and reduce energy costs. Qualifying applicants will receive a FREE Home Energy Assessment to learn where your home is losing energy and discover ways to save on energy-efficient upgrades. After the Assessment, the Initiative will provide energy efficiency information and FREE energy-efficient products to help reduce energy usage. This Initiative is provided at NO COST and is currently accepting applications!

What is Offered?

The Mobile Home Initiative is here to enhance a customer’s knowledge about energy efficiency in their own home to increase their comfort and reduce energy costs. Qualifying applicants will receive a FREE Home Energy Assessment from a qualified Energy Advisor. Following the Assessment, a customer will also receive an Energy Savings Kit with easy to install energy-efficient products such as, LED lightbulbs, advanced power strips, showerheads and faucet aerators.

Select mobile home residents may also receive energy-saving equipment such as new heating equipment (gas furnace or air source heat pump), added insulation, a smart thermostat and/or air and duct sealing. The equipment will be installed by a Program-approved, licensed contractor, also known as a Program Ally.

Eligibility

You are eligible for MHI if you meet the following qualifications:

  • You live in a mobile home.
  • You are an Ameren Illinois residential customer heating your home with gas or electricity delivered by Ameren Illinois OR an Ameren Illinois residential electric customer heating your home with propane.
  • You currently reside in Bond, Calhoun, Champaign, Christian, Clark, Clay, Clinton, Coles, Crawford, Cumberland, DeWitt, Douglas, Edgar, Effingham, Fayette, Ford, Franklin, Greene,  Iroquois, Jackson, Jasper, Jersey, Lawrence, Logan, Macon, Macoupin, Madison, Marion, Monroe, Montgomery, Moultrie, Perry, Piatt, Randolph, Richland, Sangamon, Shelby, St. Clair, Vermillion, or Washington County.
  • Your maximum gross annual income is at or below the amount listed on the Income Qualification Chart.
